Thankful Thursday (2-22)

If I’m honest, I completely forgot last week. I had my days mixed up and by the time I realized it was Thursday, I was already in bed ready to sleep. I apologize.

This week is going to be slightly different. In my gratitude journey, I am currently working on getting back to the basics. While there are a lot of fun things for which I am thankful – especially these last two weeks, I want to go a little deeper as a reminder to myself how richly blessed I really am.

I’m thankful for eyes that can see.

I’m thankful for a mind that can read.

I’m thankful for access to a good education.

I’m thankful for a roof over my head.

I’m thankful for shelter from the rain and lightening.

I’m thankful for food in the fridge and pantry that I can use to fill my currently growling tummy.

I’m thankful for hot, clean water in which I can bathe.

I’m thankful for cool, clean water to drink.

I’m thankful for a healthy daughter who is ever growing and changing and has opportunities galore in front of her.

I’m thankful for a bed in which to sleep.

I’m thankful for a blanket to keep me warm.

I’m thankful for a pillow upon which I can rest my head.

I’m thankful for a husband who sees me and loves me.

I’m thankful for the clothes I am wearing and the extra clothes in my closet.

I’m thankful for clean water and soap to wash my clothes.

I’m thankful for the air in my lungs.

I’m thankful for an able body.

I’m thankful for ways to be a good steward of this able body.

I’m thankful for shoes to cover my feet while I walk throughout each day.

I’m thankful for the freedom to worship God publicly and in fellowship with other believers.

I’m thankful for the church building in which we choose to worship on Sundays.

I’m thankful for a savior who loves me enough to keep loving me. Even in my doubting and wandering and selfishness, he continues to knock.

Today, I am thankful for being abundantly blessed beyond my wildest desires. In thanking Jesus for the blessings of new restaurants and staying home with Brooklyn and a new tv show & yada yada…I often take for granted the small things which are actually big things.

I’ve been blessed with another day to live and breathe and love. Thank you, Jesus.

I’ve been blessed with family to hug. Thank you, Jesus.

I’ve been blessed with food and clothing and shelter. Thank you, Jesus.

I’ve been blessed to know the Good News of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Jesus.

Thank you, Jesus, for these blessings.

What are YOU thankful for today?
